Terms and Conditions

1) We will take every reasonable care when applying Embryo Transfer (ET)/In Vitro Production (IVP)/Ovum Pickup (OPU) and related procedures to your cattle but we can accept no liability for ill health, infertility or injury to any donor or recipient whilst in our custody or control, or in transit, or for any consequential loss or damage incurred thereafter, however caused. If you are concerned about the risk, you should insure appropriately. For more information visit http://www.activf-et.com/

2) All donor animals should be examined by a vet after each collection to ensure that should any rare problems arise, they are treated immediately.

3) Residential donors and recipients are not insured by us. We would suggest that you inform your insurers where the cattle are and insure appropriately for transport & ET/OPU/IVP risks if you require cover.

4) We operate under strict biosecurity protocols and take every reasonable care to prevent spread of infectious disease. You agree to inform us of any disease restrictions in place on your farm (including Bovine Tuberculosis) and of any infectious disease risks you are aware of in your animals. We can accept no liability for any infectious disease that may be alleged to have been contracted by any donor or recipient whilst in our custody or in our control, or any consequential loss or damage incurred thereafter, however caused.

5) We shall be under no liability for oocytes (eggs), semen and/or embryos undergoing production or processing, in store or in transit on your behalf, or for any consequential loss or damage incurred after transfer. We will take every reasonable care of your oocytes, semen and/or embryos but it is not our policy to insure them and you should insure appropriately, if you so desire.

6) On occasions it may be necessary to administer a product that is not authorised/licensed for use in cattle but is, nevertheless, acknowledged as a product that is an effective component of an Advanced Breeding Protocol. There is, therefore, a small risk of unknown side effects. Presentation of your cattle for OPU/IVP will be regarded as acceptance of any attendant risk.

7) Acceptance of these conditions is implied by the commencement of any synchronisation or pre-OPU program or the arrival of cattle on one of our residential or day centres. Please note, however, that the exclusions of liability referred to above are not intended to exclude any statutory liability.

8) You agree to pay the rates as laid out in the Paragon/Activf-ET price list which is active at the time of the first Ovum Pickup (OPU) collection of each donor.

9) Accounts are payable 30 days from the invoice date. Payment is by BACS or cheque. Please note that for accounts unpaid, additional charges may be incurred. We also reserve the right to retain frozen embryos in stock belonging to you until payment is received. Should payment for veterinary services continue to be withheld over a period of 4 months or more, we reserve the right to sell any embryos in store. OPU collections will also cease until payment is received.

10) Should payment for Advanced Breeding services remain unpaid, Paragonvet Ltd reserve the right to contact third party debt collection services to recover the debt owed.  Charges for these services will incur, payable by the debtor.
